Scott Woodruff is a central character at the 10th Annual California Roots Music and Art Festival starting Friday night and running through Sunday at the Monterey County Fair & Event Center. Not because he’s necessarily more important than anyone else, but because of the story behind his rise to top billing at the festival’s opening night Friday.

Moreover, he’s central to the sound of the band Stick Figure, writing, producing and recording the music all on his own. The band you’ll see him with comes into play when it’s time to perform live and go out on tour. And with the band comes a very special member of the entourage, Cocoa the Tour Dog.
